Welcome to Les Grands Arbres
Les Grands Arbres is a family friendly gite complex in the heart of sunny Charente Maritime. If you're looking for a gite holiday which offers a superb swimming pool, top quality accommodation and is easily accessible to all the interesting sites and events the locality has to offer - then look no further.
We aim to give a warm welcome to our guests and we hope that the nearby facilities will enable you to enjoy the sort of holiday where you can mix with the residents at the village pub, walk to the general store for the breakfast bread and simply relax on the terrace with a glass of wine and watch the sun go down. Our guests love it here and for us it's a great joy to provide something which is so much appreciated.
The three cottages are converted to a very high standard from the original farm buildings. Our two hundred year old house (Bed and Breakfast is available) is in the heart of Cognac country and like many of the maison charentaise in the village it once belonged to one of the wealthy vineyard owners. Alas, the production of Cognac at Les Grands Arbres ceased long before our time, but during the grape harvest you can still smell the spirit in the air around the many local wineries.
FAMILY FUN: Friday night is pizza night, from the mobile pizza man. The pub welcomes families and has a popular pool table and a chatty clientele. Nearby you can enjoy golf, go karting and horse riding. In our extensive grounds you will find table tennis, table football, boules and bikes for your use (though you would need to bring your own safety helmets). The heated pool is large and surrounded by a sheltered terrace with sun loungers and each gite has a barbeque if you fancy a cook out. The kids wil have a great time in the garden messing about on the swings or in the playbarn. If you like to rummage we can tell you where to visit one of the weekly brocantes - a cross between a flea market, car boot sale and antiques fair. It's a typical French day out and the perfect way to find a souvenir to treasure.
