Travel

We are served by airports at La Rochelle, Bordeaux, Poitiers and Angouleme/Cognac and located only fifteen minutes from the A10, the main autoroute to the south west. The channel ports of Caen and St Malo can be reached in approximately four and a half hours.

Nearby Towns

St Jean d'Angely, Cognac and Saintes are all within easy reach. Saintes is a chic river town with pedestrian streets, roman amphitheatre and a cultured air. Cognac is a charming and characterful town with an interesting produce market, famous jazz and blues festivals and a variety of recognisable cognac distilleries. You've tasted Remy Martin, now go for a visit and sniff it straight from the barrel. St Jean d'Angely is a typical rural market town which is very popular with many of our guests and  also the ex pats, who are remarkably well integrated into local life. There is a swimming pool complex, river and lake and a wide selection of cafes and restaurants. Further afield are the fascinations of La Rochelle, Rochefort, Ile de Ré and some lovely seaside towns.

An information pack on places to visit and things to do is available in the gites and further information can be obtained from the tourist office in Saint Jean d'Angely, tel 00 335 4632 0472 or http://ot.angely.net.
